SMU's Glavic wins Hec Crighton Award

Congratulations to SMU quarterback Eric Glavic, winner of this season's Hec Crighton Trophy for Most Outstanding Player in CIS Football. Glavic you will recall was a key substitute off the bench for the Basketball Huskies who advanced to the CIS Final Four last season in Halifax. On the hardwood, Glavic is a 6'6" power forward who can rebound and is a presence inside defensively. Unfortunately for both the football and basketball Huskies, Glavic suffered a football-season-ending knee injury in last Saturday's Uteck Bowl upset win over Laval Rouge et Or in Halifax. No word on how long the rehab will be and whether or not CIS basketball fans can expect to see the multi-sport Glavic, a native of Pickering, ON, return to hoops. Best of luck for a speedy recovery and congratulations on the honour, Eric.
