Laval wins highly-entertaining Alumni Game: Turcotte goes off for 38

In a highly entertaining game played at Séminaire St-Francois in Quebec City, the Laval Rouge et Or made a late surge to beat their highly-talented Alumni team 107 -101. Needless to say, the jam-packed crowd got their monies worth with fast-paced action and some torrid shooting including a buzzer-beating heave from 60 feet by Dominic Soucy which brought the Alumni back to within 6 at 52-46 at half-time. 6'4" Jerome Turcotte (38 points, 8-10 3's, 13 rebounds) flashed his great potential with an outstanding performance against a quality team that featured 6'4" Charles Fortier (4 time CIS 2nd team All-Canadian and 2007 MVP with the ABA Quebec City Kebekwa), Dominique Soucy (2006 1st team CIS All-Canadian and also a Kebekwa player this past season), Samuel Audet-Sow (back from 3 professional seasons in Europe), 6'8" Marc-Antoine Horth who also played for the Quebec City ABA team last year and Jean-Michel Leblanc who was the heart and soul of last year's edition of the Rouge et Or. 6'8" J.P. Morin added 19 points/14 rebounds for the current edition of Les Rouge et Or while last season's CIS Rookie-of-the-Year 6'3" J.F. Beaulieu-Maheux added 15 points (4-8 3's). Laval was 20 for 35 from behind the arc as a team. Soucy led the Alumni with 26 points while Fortier added 25 as the Alumni went 12-27 from 3.
