The CIS regular season begins tonight in Vancouver as the #4 UBC Thunderbirds host Trinity Western Spartans. The T-Birds are the defending Canada West champions and return four starters while TWU historically has been one of the highest scoring teams in the CIS. The six Pacific Division teams in Canada West are the only squads to play regular season games this weekend and there is plenty of media coverage of the games (see below).

New additions to the Cougars lineup are 6'9 Steve Christie (3rd year) who returns to the team after a year's absence and 6'2 Neb Kostic who is a fourth year engineering student but a first year player. Also 6'5" Jamal Williams had to tend to family business in England and will not play this weekend while Paul Gareau should be ready to go by the second week of CW play.
Late Note on RMC's trip to Winnipeg October 24 - Royal Military College is unavailable to travel due to campus commitments. The game against Winnipeg on Thursday, Oct. 25th plus the two scheduled pre-season games against Manitoba on Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27 at 7:30 p.m. at Investors Group Athletic Centre will not be played this weekend.
