Veteran guard Casey Archibald had 27 of his game-high 33 points after halftime and #2 UBC Thunderbirds used a stifling defence to edge #3 UVic Vikes 78-73 in a battled of the 2 remaining undefeated teams in Canada West at War Memorial Gym in Vancouver on Saturday night in front of 1,600 fans.

Adam Hartman had a 25-point, 10-rebound double/double and Dany Charlery added 21 points and 9 rebounds as the Bobcats maintained their lead atop Canada West Great Plains conference with a victory at Winnipeg in front of 1,250 fans. Erfan Nasajpour had 21 points, 11 assists, 5 rebounds and 5 steals for the Wesmen while Ivan Saric added 18 points and 14 rebounds. Winnipeg was only 1-12 from three point land in the loss.

If it appeared darker in the U of M gym last night, it's probably due to the shooting as the teams combined to go 24-43 (56%) from 3 point land, shooting the lights out of you will, and the Cougars almost came back from a 17 point halftime deficit. The Bisons prevailed led by Isaac Ansah's 21 points, 9 assists and 4 rebounds and Darcy Coss's 25 points (including 6-11's) and 6 rebounds. The Cougars shot their way back into the game on the backs of Paul Schubach, who went 5-7 from 3 as part of his 27 point effort and Jeff Lukomski (23 points on 6-8 from downtown).
