U19 News: USA wins in Dallas, AUS heads to Europe

USA Basketball recently selected their U19 team in preparation for the world championships next week in Serbia and the group is in action at the Global Games in Dallas. In their first game, the Americans dominated an African team 101-52 as the following story summarizes USA U19 team dominates second half against Africa The USA has been placed in Group B for the FIBA U19 worlds in Serbia, along with China, Mali and the host Serbians. The Australian U19's, nicknamed the "Emus", are making the long trek across the globe to Europe for the FIBA World U19's, beginning in Spain where they will participate in four nation tune-up tournament in Caceras, four hours south-west of Madrid, against France, China and Spain before continuing on to Serbia. At the world championships, the Aussie's will compete in Group C with Canada, Nigeria and Turkey. Canada meets Australia next Saturday, July 14th at 7:30 AM eastern time in the final game of the preliminary round in Group C. Here is a summary of the Aussie U19 team Emus depart for Spain
