Gee-Gees to have Brother Act this season

The Ottawa Gee-Gees scored a late recruiting coup as 6'2" Jacob Gibson-Bascombe, a combination guard originally from Toronto Jarvis Collegiate who spent last season with the Eastern Commerce Prep program, has committed to the program. Jacob is the younger brother of Gee-Gees OUA East First Team All-Star 6'4" Josh Gibson-Bascombe and will help ease the loss to graduation of 5'11" Alex McLeod in uOttawa's backcourt. Jacob is described as more of a combination guard who can shoot the ball and can play the point as opposed to Josh, who is primarily a point guard. Jacob joins 6'6" forward Justin Bell (Mississauga Rick Hansen), 6'5" forward Marvin Bazile (John Abbott CEGEP) and 6'0" shooting guard Vlad Pislaru (Scarborough Jean Vanier) in the Ottawa's 2007-08 recruiting class. The Gee-Gees are one of several CIS teams hosting NCAA games this coming Labour Day as Alabama (twice), Villanova and Illinois will face uOttawa. A full schedule of all CIS vs. NCAA games will be posted shortly.

This ought to drive the play by play guys and the colour guys, like Wayne Kondro nuts. Imagine both of them on the court at the same time, with those long last names, and both first names starting with J.It ought to be fun!
Looks like another interesting season ahead, and I hope the GGs can do a lot of good things.

I have a feeling that they will.

Just they're both JGB - but maybe we can make one JGB2.

Awesome news for a sports writer at the U of O like me.
