The Canadian Under-17 and Under-15 boys basketball championships start today and run through Tuesday in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Click here for a link to the tournament web site. The U-17 tournament began last night and Quebec's Laurent Rivard went off for 34 points in a 77-46 victory over New Brunswick. Today, Saskatchewan defeated NWT 96-53, Ontario hammered Newfoundland 103-34, B.C. 105 overwhelmed PEI 36, Alberta over Nova Scotia 92-41 and Manitoba met New Brunswick in a game later this afternoon. 5 more games will take place tomorrow. Preliminary round games end on Sunday and playoff games go Monday and then the Gold and Bronze medal games go Tuesday at Bishop's University.
