Tuto Marchand Cup Television Coverage

Here is a note from the New York Times web site indicating that games from the Tuto Marchand Cup will be televised on several U.S.-based cable networks including DirecTV (channel 414-WAPA, a Spanish station), although DirecTV's programming schedule on their web site does not show these games being televised. No word in the article on whether all games or just the Puerto Rican games will be covered. Canada faces off against Puerto Rico tonight at 8:30 PM Eastern time. NOTE: We previously advised that Puerto Rico was one hour ahead of eastern time - this was incorrect. San Juan is on Eastern time. According to Raptors TV web site, Raptors TV will not cover this event, choosing instead to show WNBA basketball.

TUTO MARCHAND CONTINENTAL CUP IN PUERTO RICO In this pre-Olympic tournament broadcast live over three nights from San Juan, the Puerto Rico national basketball team will face off against teams from Canada (tonight), Brazil (tomorrow) and Argentina (Saturday), including 12 N.B.A. players representing their home countries. The games will be broadcast on Cablevision (Channel 237), Comcast (Channel 650 in northern New Jersey), DirecTV (Channel 414) and RCN (Channel 530). In 2004 Puerto Rico defeated the United States team in Athens in the most lopsided basketball loss in Olympic history. This year Puerto Rico advanced to the finals of the Pan American games before losing to Brazil.
