Jeanty Signs Pro Deal in Germany

Congratulations to two-time Mike Moser Award winner Ozvaldo Jeanty, who has signed a professional contract with TSV 1861 Noerdlingen of the Pro A League in Germany. Jeanty, arguably the most successful player in CIS history, leading the Carleton Ravens to 5 consecutive CIS championships, had several offers on the table and will play in one of Europe's toughest leagues in Germany. Jeanty's unsurpassed work ethic is well known and he views this opportunity as another challenge he will no doubt face with the same ferocity he trained with each and every day in the CIS. Jeanty is the fourth CIS star from last season to announce a professional deal in Europe. Previously, 6'10" Neil MacDonald and 6'3" Garry Gallimore (both from St. FX) signed with the same team in Belgium and 6'4" Casey Archibald (UBC) signed with a team from Austria. The Ottawa Citizen's Martin Cleary reports on Jeanty's signing Jeanty signs deal to play in Germany As well, Cleary reports on the hype starting to surround one of the Labour Day games in Ottawa involving the University of Illinois and the Carleton Ravens as Ottawa is apparently on "celebrity watch" Ravens fans on celebrity watch

Just thought I'd let you know that there has been 5 Canadians sign pro deals. Brandon Ellis (UVIC Vikes) signed with the Dusseldorf Magics Germany Pro A) about 2 weeks ago. He actually has already played a couple of games with them.
