Canada Qualifies !
Jermaine Anderson had 21 points including 5 3's, several of which came in a key third quarter run that gave Canada the lead while Carl English added 13 including 3 3's as Canada shot 14-27 as a group behind the arc to qualify for their first major global tournament in 7 years with an 80-76 win over Dominican Republic. CIS alumnus Aaron Doornekamp had 8 points but six came in the last 5 minutes including a huge three with just over a minute to play and Canada clinging to a one point lead. Canada finishes the quarter-final round at 3-4 and now advances to the semi-finals against either Argentina, Puerto Rico or Brazil to be decided tonight after Brazil and Puerto Rico square off in the final game of the quarter-final round.
