In the News: Henry Bekkering & Doug McKinney

The two-sport athlete theme seems to be predominating here recently so it is with great interest that we review the following article by Globe and Mail football writer Allan Maki, who reviews the CFL draft possibilities of 6'6" Henry Bekkering, who as readers know is one of the key recruits in Dan Vanhooren's Calgary Dinos incoming class as a transfer from NCAA Division 1 Eastern Washington. Bekkering is also an accomplished kicker who some folks believe is good enough to kick in the CFL Getting a kick out of a hoops player and another article from Allen Cameron of the Calgary Herald on Bekkering (courtesy of Dave Wells, our man in Southern Alberta :) ) Basketball star a dark horse pick

UPEI's fifth-year graduating senior, 6'9" Doug McKinney, one of the players named to this weekend's Canada Basketball Be One All-Canadian weekend, is preparing for the coming weekend with the hopes of garnering an invitation to the main camp in a few weeks. Charles Reid of the PEI Guardian reports Panthers McKinney gets his shot

Howard Tsumura of the Vancouver Province compiled this article on the importance to the UCFV men's program of attracting a high profile recruit like Dylan Gatner Gatner opens the door

We don't even nearly do a good enough job of covering CIS women's basketball or any women's basketball for that matter but are endeavoring to do so. Thus it is with great pleasure that we post an article form Philip Croucher of the Halifax Daily News on 15 year old Justine Colley from Halifax who is in the process of making a big decision Big choice for star athlete
