Saturday Night's Late CIS/NCAA Games + Game Reports

UBC's Brett Leversage tries to turn the corner during his team's loss last night to Big 12 team Oklahoma Sooners. There were 3 late games last night between CIS and NCAA teams:

Oklahoma 81, UBC 62 The Sooners' big, bruising lineup gave UBC difficulty; still, the T-Birds had the game back to within 12 with 3:12 remaining after a 20-8 run led by 6'2" Chris Dyck (team-high 15 points). 6'8" post Bryson Kool added 12 points for UBC in a game played using FIBA rules Game Report from UBC web site plus Box Score plus a detailed report from the Sooners web site OU Wins in Canada Behind Big Men

Marquette 90, Fraser Valley 55 In new Head Coach Barnaby Craddock's first game behind the Cascades bench, the Marquette Golden Eagles defeated UCFV, marking the first men's contest in Fraser Valley's brand new $6.5 million Envision Athletic Centre. Joel Haviland led UCFV with 14 points as the Cascades trailed 44-31 at halftime before faltering in the third and fourth quarters in a game played using FIBA rules. Golden Eagles Win

Boise State 108, Trinity Western 77 The Spartans played their usual Paul Westhead, up-tempo offense and stayed within 7 at 33-26 after the first quarter but then fell behind 66-45 by halftime in a game played using FIBA rules. TWU got a solid effort from U.S. import Billy Glowacki (Saginaw, MI) who had 13 points and were led by 6'5" Luke Robinson (21 points) but could not account for Boise's Aaron Garner who led all scorers with 31.
